Toshi Yabuno is a member of the global Financial Services Practice, which he led in the Asia Pacific region for five years. Toshi brings an international background to his work, and his experiences in Japan and around the world have provided him with a deep understanding of different business cultures in different countries and the unique challenges global organizations face as they assimilate their operations.
Financial services experience with a global perspective
- Toshi has conducted hundreds of searches for Japanese and global clients in financial services and professional services, mostly for C-level positions. He has conducted board searches for both listed and privately held companies across all industries.
- He worked previously with another leading international executive search firm, where he focused on assignments in the financial services industry. He also conducted several senior-level assignments for a wide variety of industries, including professional services, consumer products and industrial.
- Toshi began his professional career with Daiwa Securities Group, where his responsibilities included managing client relationships with major Japanese and multinational institutions in the financial institutional sales & marketing department, planning and developing training programs for the professional staff in the human resources development department. He also provided corporate finance advisory services to non-Japanese multinational companies as part of the firm’s international investment banking department.
Toshi was educated in Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. He holds a B.A. in law from Keio University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
