Michelle Sharp is a member of the firm’s North American Human Resources Practice and leads initiatives for the practice in Canada. She is also a member of the Global Consumer Practice and works on assignments that span many functional areas. Michelle is a senior leader with more than 20 years of combined management consulting and industry experience spanning all areas of human resources. This diversity of experience enables her to quickly understand an organization’s context and needs, and identify the leadership attributes needed to succeed in a role.
Broad human resources experience
- Before joining Spencer Stuart, Michelle was vice president of total rewards and HR global services for PSP Investments, one of Canada’s largest pension investment managers. She led a diverse team of professionals in the areas of compensation, pension, benefits, wellness, payroll, mobility, employee experience and analytics.
- Earlier, she was a partner within EY’s People Advisory Services Practice, where she assisted global organizations with the design and implementation of HR strategies and programs aimed at improving efficiency while positively contributing to employee engagement.
- Prior to that, Michelle was with BRP, the Canada-based recreational vehicle manufacturer, where she led the company’s global human resources shared services center.
- At an earlier stage of her career, Michelle held human resources roles with progressing levels of responsibility at top Canadian corporations, such as Bell Canada and Canadian National Railway.
Michelle earned her MBA from HEC Montreal and her Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University. She is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and is fluent in French and English.
