Erin Henry, Ph.D. is a core member of Spencer Stuart’s Leadership Advisory Services. She advises corporate and private investor-backed leaders on their most pressing leadership challenges, helping leaders unlock the full potential of their teams and organizations. Erin has partnered with clients across multiple industries including financial services, private equity, consumer, industrial, technology and nonprofit to amplify possibilities for leaders and help them create positive change for their organizations and communities. She works with clients on leader transition and performance acceleration, executive coaching and development, senior team effectiveness and organizational change, including initiatives that support sustainable and inclusive business practices.
Strategic advisor on leadership and organizational effectiveness to drive transformation and growth
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Erin was the head of venture platform at Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, responsible for advising and coaching leaders of early and growth-stage, venture-backed technology startups to help them grow, scale and partner.
- Previously, Erin held a series of senior roles focused on organizational effectiveness and strategy at Northwestern Mutual, where she provided thought leadership, tools and analyses to advise leaders on strengthening the link between strategy and human capital to accelerate transformation and organizational performance.
- Prior to joining Northwestern Mutual, Erin worked at Johnson Controls, where she focused on helping small and medium-sized businesses with partnerships and growth, enhancing supplier diversity and sustainability in the supply chain globally.
- Erin has published several academic articles and case studies on topics including leadership, team effectiveness and organizational change.
Erin earned a Ph.D. in organizational behavior from Harvard Business School, an A.M. in sociology from Harvard University, an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a bachelor’s degree in economics and international studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Erin is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited executive coach and a fellow with the Institute of Coaching at McLean/Harvard Medical School. She’s active in her community and has served on the boards of several organizations advancing education, access to housing, workforce development and economic development. Erin is currently active on the Wisconsin School of Business Dean’s Advisory Board and the University of Wisconsin Athletics Equity Diversity Council.
