Based in Spencer Stuart’s Seattle office, Brett Clark-Bolt is the global head of the solutions group and a consultant in the firm’s Leadership Advisory Services. Brett has extensive experience in executive and operational leadership, strategy, organizational culture, top team effectiveness, and human resources earned through a military and civilian career spanning 25+ years.
Wide-ranging experience with deep expertise in aligning leadership and organizational culture to strategy
- Before joining Spencer Stuart, Brett worked as the executive vice president of human resources at Blucora, a technology company in Bellevue, Washington. There, he served as a strategic partner on the executive team and led a shift in the HR function to better align the power of leadership and people through a period of significant strategic transformation.
- Prior to this work, Brett was principal and senior vice president of product strategy for a global search firm. During his tenure, he advised companies on transforming organizational culture to boost business performance, and worked closely with senior executives to align leadership and culture with strategy.
- Previously, Brett served as the CEO for a small software business focused on the auto dealership industry. He also worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, specializing in high tech, retail and industrials, with a focus on operations work. He began his career with nearly a decade of active military duty, serving in the Army and then the Air Force as an officer, instructor helicopter pilot, and commander. He then served an additional 11 years in the Air Force Reserves. He is a combat veteran and retired from the Air Force Reserves as a lieutenant colonel.
Brett earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors in political science with an emphasis in international relations from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MBA with second year honors from Harvard Business School.
