Alastair McMenamin is a consultant for Spencer Stuart’s Leadership Advisory Services across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He advises chairs, CEOs, CPOs and other C-suite leaders on executive team succession, talent management, leadership development, assessment and leadership effectiveness. Coming from a senior HR background in the insurance and financial industry, Alastair has a breadth of experience advising large corporate entities on their talent and leadership needs.

Alastair spent a decade as head of HR for EMEA for Zurich Insurance Group, the largest division in Zurich (with 20,000 employees) and played the lead role for talent management and succession of leadership roles across the region, including working with nominating committees and boards.

Other accolades include driving a multi-year talent development program that transformed the talent pipeline, and increasing the diversity of leadership in Zurich EMEA, with the proportion of female leaders doubling from 20 percent to 40 percent.
- Still at Zurich Insurance Group, Alastair ran several CEO assessment centers at Zurich to assess future CEO capability.
He has a Bachelor of Commerce along with a master’s degree in organizational behavior. In addition, he has earned diplomas in executive coaching and psychometric testing. He has won CIPD awards — the most prestigious and highly regarded awards for the HR profession in Ireland — for leadership development and for culture.
