Rick Routhier leads Spencer Stuart’s Stamford office and is a member of the firm’s Consumer and Hospitality & Leisure practices. He conducts senior-level assignments spanning boards, CEOs and CMOs for a wide range of clients.
Firsthand industry experience
- Rick spent 25 years in the consumer and financial services industries in marketing, sales and general management positions. He brings his broad experience in highly competitive categories and significant exposure to the sales, marketing and organizational needs of brand-oriented businesses to his client work, for which he has received the firm’s Lou Rieger Quality Award.
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Rick was with American Express Company, where he served as senior vice president and general manager of the middle-market segment of the corporate services group.
- Rick also spent 16 years at the Pepsi-Cola Company in a variety of roles, the most recent of which was senior vice president, general manager and chief customer officer. In that role, he was responsible for national sales, trade marketing and the U.S. fountain business. In addition, Rick served as president of the sales and merchandising group of the Bantam, Doubleday Dell Publishing Company, a division of Bertelsmann AG.
Rick received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business. He served as chairman of the board of trustees of St. Stephen’s School in Rome and is the past president of the Dartmouth Alumni Council. He has lived internationally in Europe, North Africa and the Caribbean, and speaks conversational French and Italian.
